This short study-at-home course is designed for Doula UK doulas. If you wish to explore the subject of breastfeeding in a little more depth and reinforce your basic understanding, this might be the course for you. This learning will be all about normal breastfeeding and being able to recognise some of the more common challenges when breastfeeding has veered away from the normal.
The course will also help you understand a little about the politics of breastfeeding and the social pressures that both breastfeeding and formula-feeding mothers endure.
The course includes reading and researching, watching videos, talking to mothers and completing a number of mini-projects and writing up your answers.
This course is not designed for women who are not already doulas or who wish to progress their learning through one of the voluntary breastfeeding organisations.
