More about me
“Atosa is the most calm and inspiring woman I have met in a long time.”
Hi, I’m Atosa Stedman, a birth and postnatal doula, hypnobirthing antenatal teacher, and mindful breastfeeding practitioner. I live by the sea in Herne Bay with my three boys and two cats. My journey into this work began after the birth of my first child in 2018, when I experienced firsthand the transformative power of antenatal education and the unwavering support of a doula. Since 2020, I’ve been dedicated to empowering birthing families, guiding them through the incredible journey of pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood.
I believe birth is deeply personal, and with the right tools and support, it can be an empowering and positive experience. My own home birth experiences, including a free birth, have inspired my advocacy for birthing choices. However, I fully support all kinds of birth, whether at home, in a midwife-led unit, or in hospital. I am heart-led first and foremost, and in addition to making sure you feel surrounded by love, my approach combines evidence-based education with a nurturing, holistic philosophy, ensuring you feel calm, informed, and respected every step of the way.
Community is at the heart of my daily life. I facilitate weekly community groups in my local area, where all are welcome to connect, share, and find support during pregnancy and early parenthood, including a Singing Mamas singing for wellbeing circle.
I love cooking nourishing meals and also facilitate a meal train system, fostering mutual support within the community, to prioritise nurturing new families in those early days.
Beyond birth, I offer feeding education and support as a certified Mindful Breastfeeding Practitioner and work with The Mindful Breastfeeding School, helping train future lactation professionals. I’m also proud to work with Birthrights, a charity advocating for birthing people’s rights, and I train and mentor new doulas as a Doula Guide with The Perinatal Academy.
