I’m Ellie and I live in South Derbyshire with my partner, two young boys and our cat. I love to read, play games, attend Discworld conventions, and fail in my attempts to grow veg in my garden.
The area I cover
I travel around 30mins/15 miles from Swadlincote and as Swadlincote straddles the borders, that covers locations in Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Staffordshire and Warwickshire.

More about me
I was inspired to become a doula after receiving support from doulas during the birth of my second son. Both of my birth experiences were magnificent however I had my second son at home and it was an intensely powerful and wonderful time where I felt the strength of my body and everything it was capable of, I’m still riding high from the experience now and would love to support other people in feeling the same feelings about their births.
I feel immensely strongly about women receiving the care and the respect that they’re entitled to and will go the extra mile to ensure that they have the information available to make informed choices during pregnancy, birth and parenthood.
I have experience in baby (and toddler!) wearing, breastfeeding to natural term, tandem feeding and generally juggling having two young children. I volunteer as a breastfeeding peer supporter at some local groups. I believe that all this life experience enables me to bring a lot to the table during my doula support. I can support new parents in any way that they require, from a listening ear and gentle encouragement to light housework, cooking and meal prep, and entertaining any older siblings in addition to helping with the baby while the parents rest. The list of support that I can provide as a postnatal doula is too big to list and any requirements can be talked through in much more detail.
