More about me
Hi, I’m Jen and I’m a birth and postnatal Doula – and an Advanced Clinical Massage therapist.
My specialities are working with hypermobility syndromes, chronic pain and long term health conditions as I myself live with hEDS and chronic Pain/fatigue.
Living with chronic pain can feel like a never-ending treasure hunt for something—anything—that helps, and this can intensify firstly in pregnancy and then again in the postnatal period. Parenting while dealing with pain or fatigue is a whole different challenge. I know how it feels when your energy disappears by midday or when your body simply won’t cooperate. I’ve been there myself, and it’s why my care will always start from a place of understanding, not assumptions. We’ll work to find what balance works for you and what can help you support that throughout your pregnancy, birth and beyond, so you can move toward more good days, more ease, and more trust in your own body. With me, you don’t have to explain or justify a thing—you’ll be heard, believed, and supported. You deserve care that adapts with you.
As your doula I can help you explore your options for birth, form a birth plan which answers your needs and support you in finding any evidence you might need to support your choices – whether you’re looking for a hospital birth, planned c-section or a home birth.
I also offer clinical pregnancy and postnatal massage services if you need these, to ease your body through the changes that birth and postpartum can bring. helping you to feel as much yourself as you can. My approach is a mix of western techniques grounded in science, deep learning of the anatomy of birth and the physiological changes which happen – and eastern techniques designed to calm the nervous system and rebalance the body.
My training includes:
- Developing Doulas Course
- Jing Pregnancy massage training
- Jing Postnatal Massage masterclass
- BTEC level 6 in Advanced Clinical Massage (in progress) @ Jing Institute of Massage
I cover the Brighton, Hove and East/West Sussex areas and work mainly with shared care, so I can be at my best for you. I look forward to meeting you <3
