More about me

I am Koah, a cake loving, veg planting mama of one. Happiest outside with my hands in the soil and foraging for wild medicines, surrounded by community and learning about the magical processes that create, birth and nourish a baby.

I came to doula-ing after the birth of my son in 2022. After spending a lot of the pregnancy alone and subsequently having my own doula I really understand the value of support and reassurance when becoming a parent. I have always found myself working in very social and supportive roles and doula-ing is a beautiful intersection of my activism, morals and compassion. I find pregnancy and birth absolutely magical and revere our bodies for their strength and wisdom and love nothing more than holding this space for each new mother and birthing person. As a queer parent I am also aware of how little space is made for alternative paths into parenthood and how incredibly important it is to acknowledge the myriad ways we can become parents and support each other every step of the way. 

What I can offer you as your doula

For me it has always been extremely important to acknowledge that not every new parent or birthing person is a mama, but all new parents need support; something that guides my practice and care. I’m here to support families and individuals on their journey to parenthood in whatever form that may take. As a doula my role is to provide you with resources and information, practical support and a comforting presence throughout pregnancy, birth and the postpartum/ early parenthood period. My support is free of judgment and bias; your voice matters and I’m here to make sure it is heard. I will make space for you to ask as many questions as you need to and give you time to make decisions. I will advocate for your choices and help you feel confident and relaxed every step of the way.

I understand that every new family’s journey will be unique and what each new parent will need from me as a doula will vary. I offer different support packages that can be used as a guideline for our time together however they are extremely flexible and we will work together to create a package that suits your needs. Before booking we will schedule a free of charge initial meeting which can take place online or in a space that you feel comfortable

Birth Doula

As a birth doula I will support you through pregnancy, birth and up to 6 weeks postpartum. Birth is a time where we are at our most powerful, however, women and birthing people are constantly put into a position of weakness by the medical institution. Together we will create a nurturing space so that you can find your power and make informed choices in order to prepare you for birth in the way that feels right for you, be that in a home or hospital environment. 

Postnatal / Early parenthood Doula

Whether you are looking for longer-term support after your birth or you are welcoming a baby into your life through another route I will be there to support this transition and provide you with a safe space to bond, heal and settle into family life together

I will also take on emergency care where possible and am happy to provide sessions via skype if that works better for you and your family

I am a firm believer that money should never be a barrier to us accessing the care we need. I will always offer 3 tiers of pricing as I would like my support to be as inclusive and accessible as possible. I do not ask for any proof of income in relation to your choice of payment. I trust that my clients will be open and honest. Payment is available in instalments if required.
