More about me
After many years in the NHS I am now working as a doula so that I can provide the holistic, one to one support I know so many parents crave. As a graduate of Developing Doulas and a member of Doula UK, you can relax knowing I have a robust code of conduct and the support of a mentor to ensure you receive high quality support. Navigating your way through the often daunting maternity system can be confusing so having someone who knows the ins and outs of the system and a companion on your journey can make all the difference.
Practical and emotional support, together with information that will help you make informed decisions about your care can feel so empowering. And when your doula has a passion for listening to women and birthing people it can feel so much easier to express your fears, concerns, hopes and dreams for pregnancy and birth.
We know that evidence based information and non-judgemental support can maximise your chances of a safe and satisfying birth. And a birth experience that leaves you feeling empowered and nurtured right through to the postnatal period can set you up to feel like a strong and capable parent. Whether you feel the need of antenatal or postnatal support (which includes overnight care) my support includes help with all the demands of the early days like feeding, sleep and your feelings about birth and parenting. Preparing well for birth and also having spent some time planning your postpartum can have a hugely positive impact on the way you feel in the early days after having a baby.
You call the shots when it comes to doula support – whether you just want some support in pregnancy or after the baby is born, I can provide support that centres you and your needs and desires. From ensuring the house runs smoothly to giving you the time to nurture yourself and recover – or even walking the dog – I am very flexible and want to give complete continuity of care to you and your family.
