More about me
Hey! I’m Jordan (also known as Mother Nurture), a trauma-informed full-spectrum doula based in Brighton and Hove. I have lived experience of navigating healthcare systems as a disabled, neurodivergent and plus-size person, and am incredibly impassioned by advocating and caring for others. From fertility and conception through to postpartum, my priority is to nurture you as a woman or birthing person every step of the way! With me as your doula, you can expect both:
Emotional support – I will empower you and affirm your belief in your power and your body throughout this magical time. From Day 1, I will lend you my ear to listen, my hand to hold, my shoulder to lean on, and my hands to make you a lovely cup of tea! Practical support – I want you to have the experience you dream of, and will be on hand to help you with whatever this entails! From creating your birth plans/wishes to demonstrating pain relief techniques, to curating an oxytocin-fuelled birth space, and to supporting you in the precious period after birth; you call the shots, and I’ll be right there alongside you.
I trained in 2023 with Developing Doulas, so I am currently mentored; this means that, not only do you get my doula services at a reduced price, but we both have the support of a wonderful and experienced Developing Doula too! Then, at the end of our time together, you’ll be asked to fill out a form to provide any valued feedback.
It would be an absolute privilege to work with you, and I look forward to hearing from you soon!
I am also a member of the Doulas Decolonising initiative, and have signed the statement for Doulas for Palestine. You can read more about this important topic here: https://doulasdecolonising.noblogs.org/
