More about me

Hello, I’m Jo. I live in a small fenland village in Cambridgeshire.

I am a recognised postnatal doula with Doula UK, experienced Breastfeeding Counsellor, Three Step Rewind Practitioner and Developing Doulas postnatal and specialist companion.

I have worked with families for near 20 years gathering lots of experiences and skills, but I always knew that something wasn’t quite right working for a large organisation I felt so passionate about supporting families to make choices that were informed and right for them, for their own family unit, circumstances and feelings, not anyone else’s. I wanted to provide families with the continuity of care that they deserved. Attending Developing Doulas has finally allowed me to gather all the tools I have collected and direct them in the most wonderful of directions allowing me to support people in the way that is individual and personal.

No matter what your past, present or future wishes, feelings or experiences are I want to support you through the antenatal, birth and postnatal period. I will listen to your hopes and feelings and provide- practical and emotional support, but most importantly I want to support you to make the informed choices that work for you and your family. You are the expert in your body, your baby and your family and I want to be with you while you find your way in your time. I feel so passionate that women and birthing people should feel like the goddesses that they are as they transition through this incredible stage of life.

Day to day you can find me on a beach or in a muddy field with my two gorgeous (big) babies, husband and dogs or on a netball court, but when I am at home I really enjoy spending time reading through my ever growing pile of books, feeding my need to learn and develop myself. I also am a trustee of a national breastfeeding charity, which I feel very honored to support.

My specialist interests are in infant feeding, perinatal and child mental health, baby and child development and supporting the 4th trimester. I provide antenatal breastfeeding workshops, 4th trimester preparation sessions and introducing solids workshops as well as individual one to one support to families.

If you are looking for  a DD companion I’d love to chat more about mentoring or one off specialist sessions then please do take a look at my website for more information or get in touch for a chat.

If you think that anything I have said resonates with you, please do get in touch for an informal chat.

Services can be provided either online or in person, please do ask.

Have a lovely day. Jo
