More about me

Hi, my name is Emma

Firstly, so many congratulations on your pregnancy This is a very exciting, and slightly daunting, time in your life and the right support will really help you to navigate it comfortably

I trust the amazing female body to birth, with grace and ease, when the conditions are right

I trust birth, when the conditions are right

And I trust you – to identify your right conditions and to allow me to support you in putting  those conditions into place

A mother of three wonderful young women in their 20’s, I have spent the equivalent of seven decades navigating the twists and turns of the female cycles and I know how it feels to bring new life into the world and negotiate the physical, emotional and spiritual changes that early motherhood brings

I was a stay at home mum for most of my daughters’ childhoods and I ran a small cake business from that same home until my youngest daughter was 10

Later, as a part-time pastry chef at Warner Brothers Studios, I received ‘compliments to the chef’ from none other than Samuel L Jackson for my famous carrot cake (I now include that same cake in my birth package)

I have practised yoga since I was 17 and became a Kundalini Yoga teacher in 2018 and a Somatic Yoga teacher in 2023.  These disciplines are amazing for building stamina and getting to know your body and, as your doula, I will teach you practices to support you during your delivery.

I am a holistic massage therapist and Level 2 Reiki practitioner.  I offer add on massage with Reiki before, during and after the birth

My mission is to support women, their partners and families to enjoy their birthing experience and the early days, weeks and months of parenthood

I recognise that, while it’s great to keep things as natural as possible, that is not always possible

That said, I know that pregnancy and birth are simply biological processes and that the female body is designed to do it with relative ease

You just need a bit of signposting to uncover your options, a good listener to support you in your decision making, and loving, supportive birth partners when the big day arrives

I particularly love supporting people choosing home and free birth and it would be my honour to walk this path with you

You can hear me speaking with other women about their experiences with their wombs on my podcast Stories From The Womb

In this podcast I honour the magnificence of the womb with mums, doulas, midwives and women whose life path has been without children

What my clients say about me:

Lucy –  ‘I felt so seen, so supported, and so held—and that made all the difference. Emma didn’t just prepare me for birth; she helped me remember who I am.”

Jack – “Emma’s approach is gentle but grounded, reassuring without being overbearing. For any couple considering a home birth or free birth, especially if you’re looking for someone who will truly honor your autonomy and trust your instincts, I can’t recommend her enough.”
